Ian Smith is a Chartered Building Surveyor and Certified Historic Building Professional able to provide a wide range of services to residential clients, including owners of listed and historic buildings. We are committed to quality, efficiency and providing a cost-effective service to all our clients. Accredited in Building Conservation by the RICS, Ian is one of a small number of professionals in Yorkshire recognised as understanding the sensitive and careful approach required to manage and conserve historic assets and acknowledged by national heritage bodies including Historic England, Historic Scotland and CADW as experts in conservation and suitably qualified to be appointed to lead grant-funded work on historic properties. Over the last three decades, Ian has played a leading role in inspecting, repairing and restoring hundreds of listed or historic buildings.
