Our free app, launched in Autumn 2022, is aimed at helping homeowners to better understand what you need to know and do when having work done at home.

It guides you through how to engage a tradesperson, what to look for in terms of quality and protection and the questions you should be asking to ensure you get the job done well and to the right standards. It is particularly helpful for those homeowners less experienced in having work carried out or undertaking major projects.

The App has been developed in collaboration with the HSE, ensuring that all aspects of what’s needed to keep people and property safe while works are ongoing, are included.

This knowledge, along with wider understanding of what’s involved when having work done at home, should help to drive-up professional standards and Health and Safety practices amongst tradespeople.

The content will continue to be developed over a period of time with strategic partners to provide homeowners with the confidence required to undertake more simple and complex home improvements.
